Avi's dude

Avi is a bit obsessed with this strange conglomeration of a creature, Tru calls her "dude". She has it with her just about always and everywhere and goes into hysterics if it's ever taken away. That includes putting her coat on, getting in and out of the car seat, getting her hands washed, and baths. Other than at those particular moments she has him in her hand. I have compiled these pictures from the last month to prove it.
Yes he is filthy because she insists on eating with him.

She is really pretty amazing at crawling with him in her clenched fist.

He goes everywhere with her. I really need to be searching for a back-up, I don't even want to think of the day when dude gets lost or dismembered, can you imagine? I can't.

Moving...AHHHHH!

We got the boot. I knew it was coming and yet I allowed myself to think I had at least a year. The man who owned the house we were renting for cheeeeaaaap passed away, and the kids decided to sell the darn thing despite our threats and hate mail. So I have started packing up, I had planned for a whole week of this drudgery, and after a few hours the house is pretty much boxed and bagged up...besides clothes and kitchen junk. I guess when you only live in a house for 6 months all the junk remembers from whence it came and pretty much just packs it's self up. Or maybe I'm just getting way to good at this. GRRRRRRRRRR! So now I am going a little bit postal sitting in this house with everything packed up waiting to be moved to it's new temporary nuk or krany (what the....how do you spell nuk?)

I took a few pictures before I took everything down and boxed it all up. I do that with all the places we leave. I don't know who will find that interesting in 20 years, I surely won't. "Oh look, here is all of our stuff arranged into this room, oh and here is another configuration." Our great grandchildren will fight over the possession of those photos. Oh well, I can't help myself.

This is the view you would have of the back living room off the kitchen if you were 8 feet tall.
That pipe light you see...yup, Jake made that.
This is the front living room (not a fan of having 2 living rooms), from this side.
And from the other side. I think everyone needs a crooked bookcase...super classy.

We shall not be doing pictures of bedrooms, because who has time to clean and photograph more than 2 rooms in a house....not I.

A Bit of Our Weekend

Our weekends always start out Friday evening waiting out on the lawn for dad to get home....the best time of the day. They can't wait for him to get home and add some patient, playful vibes to my frazzled end of the day vibes!!!!

Look at her hair...she totally needs a hair cut but I can't bring myself to do it. She is pouting hard core in this one.

Saturday we went out to the GREAT Salt Lake because I have never been. It was less than great in my book, and very stinky. At least there were lots of rocks for Tru to play on.

Those are the carcasses of millions of shrimp lining the beach. Yuck!

No trip out to the Great lake of salt would be complete without a stop at the visitor center and a corny posed picture by a buffalo. You know I'm right.

A Bit of Our Weekend

I seriously could not wait until Avi was big enough to sit by herself in the tub so I could get tub pics with both the girls. So cute!
Polly is seriously THE BEST aunt ever! She plays for literally hours on end with Tru.
Can you believe Avi slept through a lawn mower?
She spent all weekend in the backpack. We hiked up to Ruth lake. It was only about 3/4 of a mile, but Tru hiked up the whole thing by herself.

Why is this what happens whenever I try to kiss Tru? It makes me feel so good!

Doesn't that look creepy...what irresponsible parents would let their child walk all the way out there on those half submerged logs.

Kids

My mom taught Tru this poem that she had taught me when I was her age. She has known it for a while but the stubborn little thing will never do it on camera...finally I bribed her to the breaking point and captured it...Avi kind of ruined it with her outbursts, but lets just look past that shall we.

Last Days of Summer

I can feel summer slipping away and I am not at all happy about it. It went by way to fast...I guess it always does though. I'm always left with a long list of things that I wanted to do and didn't. Here are a few things that have been happening around here lately. Long walks in the early morning.
Tooth extractions...yes that is dried blood around her mouth, isn't that sweet.

A little hill rolling.
Avi didn't get it.
Camping trips with fun cousins.
Funny how in the mountains you start out a day in a snowsuit and end up in a swimsuit.

Too bad I didn't bring any. Guess I'll have to forfeit my nomination for the SuperMom award.
She is guarding a mouth full of sand...look at those pursed lips.
Slip'n'slides.
Aren't these ladies cute.

And BANANAS EVERYWHERE!!!!
